David Worthington works with a variety of mediums including bronze, tarmac, cement, paint, wax and stone. For several years he has been making wax drawings over a watercolour base, images that frustrate the viewer’s ability to see them clearly. Worthington developed a series of mobile stone sculptures that balance on bearings allowing his sculptures to be manually rotated and interacted with. He is utterly committed to object-making, which he regards as an existential echo and manifestation of physical human existence. He is particularly interested in stone which he responds to in a primal way, referencing our geological history and origin.
