In conversation with ceramic resident artists Josée Aubin Ouellette and Suzanne Déry for the project Mineral Supplements

Free with general entry

For this years annual kiln project, Cass Sculpture Foundation invited Glasgow-based artist Josée Aubin Ouellette to bring together a group of artists to develop the project Mineral Supplements.

Over the course of the year these artists have been working together to explore the different forms of labour associated with ceramics and the psychological implications of clay. They have created a diverse body of work that encompasses poetry, sculpture, ceramics and performance.

In April the artists undertook a period of making-based research in the ceramics studio at Glasgow Sculpture Studios. This was then developed into a body of writing, which was performed during an event as part of Glasgow International Festival at SWG3 Gallery. This August the artists will undertake a ceramics residency at Cass Sculpture Foundation in partnership with West Dean College.

Please join us on 3rd September around the wood-fired kiln, whilst their ceramic works are fired, for an informal discussion with Mineral Supplements artists Josée Aubin Ouellette and Suzanne Déry. Please feel free to bring your own picnic and drinks.

Curators: Josée Aubin Ouellette, Claire Shea and Helen Turner
