Rough Music: Robert Rush in Conversation with Mark Essen and Paulina Michnowska

Main Gallery, Cass Sculpture Foundation

Free with general entry

Speakers: Artist and curator Robert Rush and artists Mark Essen and Paulina Michnowska

Price: Free with general entry ticket (Booking Required)

As the Rough Music exhibition comes to a close, Cass Sculpture Foundation will host a conversation between artist and curator Robert Rush and participating artists Mark Essen and Paulina Michnowska.

This year CASS commissioned an open-source sculpture in the form of a wood-burning outdoor kiln. Intended to provide a permanent resource for artists and ceramicists as well as acting as an artwork in itself, Rough Music marks the kilns inaugural project and features new sculptures by the most exciting artists working in ceramics today, including:

Aaron Angell, Mark Essen, Alex Hoda and Robert Rush, Paulina Michnowska, Laure Prouvost, Giles Round, Jackson Sprague, Adam Sutherland, Bedwyr Williams and Jesse Wine.

Robert Rush and Mark Essen will discuss the role of ceramics in contemporary art today, their experiences in initiating the project and their reactions to the works produced.

This will be the final opportunity to see the exhibition Rough Music as Cass Sculpture Foundation will close on the 8th November for the winter period.

Please email info@sculpture.org.uk to reserve your place.
